RULES

Divider1.png

Second Dawn runs on a 3 strike system. The more times a member breaks a rule, the more severely that member will be punished. The fates of Members who break a rule are determined by all members of the Staff team. Depending on the severity, that member will either be given a “Strike” or a warning, both of which should be privately documented by the Staff Team for the following 90 days for the first strike and an additional 120 days for a second strike. A third strike will result in more drastic actions, those of which will be determined at the Discretion of the Staff-team.

(Strikes can be removed from members after the given days are up.)

1. Be respectful. Discrimination including homophobia, transphobia, and racism, against others will not be tolerated under any circumstances. Disputes should be civil when handling conflict in or outside of the group. Conflict outside of the group involving members of Second-Dawn, should not backtrack and cause problems within the group. Issues between members should be handled in private, outside of the general chat, or discussed with a member of the staff team if necessary.

2. Second Dawn is reserved for mature audiences (18+) only. Content may contain violence, blood, gore, suggestive content, strong language, and drug and alcohol usage. Our characters are the highest intelligence of their world and have most, if not all, human capabilities. However, unloading explicit sex scenes, involving  genitalia, through literature or art is strictly prohibited. Any members producing such content within the group will be addressed appropriately.

  • Discussions related to rape, sexual-assault, or closely similar topics both in and out of character are prohibited. Heavy-handed political perspectives such as abortion, religion, animal rights, etc. are also not allowed. However, in-game political topics  are not restricted while in character.

  • Lying about your age at any point during the joining process, or as a current member, will result in permanent removal (aka being banned) from Second Dawn. Being banned from this group prevents that individual from ever being able to join our group from that point on.

  • Any discrepancies about a user’s age will be appropriately investigated and brought to the attention of the person in question by the staff team’s discretion.

  • Second Dawn does not own or maintain a Trigger List. If a user is uncomfortable with a topic at hand, it is suggested that  you either avoid the channel in which the discussion is being held or politely ask that the topic stops being talked about. That being said, our members are not required to avoid or put an end to their conversation on behalf of a user who requests it.

3. Avoid off topic chatting in roleplay channels, and other channels where it is not appropriate to do so. Discussion channels are provided for…well, discussion for certain topics. For example: If you are trying to arrange a plot for your character to go on a hunt, an advertisement (aka an AD) for this should not be posted in the art channel or general chat. Instead, you should post your idea in our designated Plot or Roleplay request channels.

4. Our designated Questions or Concerns channel is reserved for members that may need help on a certain subject matter. This channel is strictly reserved for Administrative help. We understand members may want to be a good person and help out, but to avoid any potential confusion, members who are not confused and therefore  do not have questions are prohibited from answering any questions or chatting in the Help-chat.

  • Users who aren’t authorized to answer questions in the Question or concerns channel, but continue to do so anyways, will be notified of their inappropriate behavior by a member of the Staff.

5. Do not privately contact staff members about questions or concerns unless explicitly told otherwise by said staff member, or if a staff member has reached out to you first. Trouble-Tickets are reserved for users who want to bring up an issue regarding other users, any majorly concerning subjects, or subjects that cannot be handled without a third party. Trouble-Tickets should not be submitted to ask simple questions such as “Where is the visual application located?”.

  • Submit a Trouble-Ticket (TT) in the Trouble-ticket Channel if you have any concerns you prefer to keep private. Trouble-Tickets are addressed as soon as possible by a Staff member.

  • Tickets that Staff-members determine are inappropriate, will be treated as such. The user should be redirected to the public Help-channel and the ticket will be closed.

  • Tickets that are classified as private are investigated under the designated Staff-member. Any actions taken to solve the problem are done at the Staff team’s discretion.

6. Advertising any other servers within Second Dawn is not permitted. However, if another role play group is interested in affiliating with SD, A Staff-member should be contacted through the Questions and concerns channel. Advertising art related sales on the other hand, is allowed and must be done in our art threads.

7. Remember that this is fantasy. In-character actions and thoughts do not reflect on the individual controlling the character. Some characters may not get along with others and for no apparent reason, although members have a right to get upset about what happens in roleplay, bringing aggressive behavior into general chats is unacceptable. Staff-members are permitted to take preventive actions (such as muting members from a channel) against any member being outright rude or aggressive.

  • Keep in-character conflict and drama separate from out-of-character interactions. This doesn’t mean you can’t discuss the topics that happen in-character, but it shouldn’t turn into a heated argument.

1. Exotic coloration of your characters is allowed. However, characteristics such as neon colors, wings, rainbow markings, etc. is unacceptable. Eye color is free range. If you’re not sure if something is or is not allowed, please check with staff members before submitting your character.

2. Age ups happen at the beginning of every month. One real life month = Two in-game months.

3. Relationships, including ships, should be kept appropriate. This means that your character should date and pursue relationships within their age group (Age groups consist of kittens, youths, young adults, adults, and elders). Character ages 6-12 months can develop crushes, but are not permitted to have any form of romantic relationships.

4. Private roleplays can be carried out in member dms or private servers, however private threads are able to be created within the server. That being said, Second Dawn has an open Roleplay policy; although it is courteous to do so, asking before joining another member’s roleplay is not required.

5. No powerplaying. Our group has a dice rolling system which can determine the outcome of most situations in roleplay especially during battles and events. Members are given generally free range regarding in-game powers, we encourage members to find creative ways of using their abilities. Members should be modest and fair with their abilities even outside of battle.

  • If a Staff member feels the characters are using their powers unfairly, that Staff member should step in and address the problem.

6. Upon the purchase of a litter, members have exactly 30 days before their litter arrives. Any kittens without a designated player and design after the 30th day, will be announced as dead.

  • (EFFECTIVE) At-least one kitten must be given to a non-member and parents may take one kitten each from their litter. In the case that there are only two kittens, both parents may take both kittens. (This rule will be updated as either Effective or Ineffective every 90 days).

  • Parents must wait until all of their current kittens reach the age of 6 months in order to purchase another litter.

  • Kittens gain their elemental abilities when they reach 6 months of age, up until then, kittens will develop their physical primal attributes.
